The Difference Between Management & Leadership

Posted on June 26, 2014 by Sandy Pardue

Leadership requires motivating and inspiring. Management includes organizing and staffing.

Management involves creating an organizational structure, staffing the job with qualified individuals, communicating the plan, delegating responsibility for carrying out the plan and devising systems to monitor implementation.

The real challenge is to combine strong leadership and strong management to balance. Unless many individuals line up and move together in the same direction, people will tend to fall all over one another

Look closely at any business in trouble and you will probably find that the problem is management. It takes managers, not management, to create a great organization. Good management works miracles. Without a solid organizational framework, ideas may spin their wheels.
